Travel Photos & News

Picking up were we left off a few months ago, here are some photos from Eddy's travels over the last few months.

In June he traveled with some Brothers from HeartCry up to the North of Peru to visit with the missionaries there. Here he is pictured with Pastor Javier of Paita, a small town located on the Pacific Coast of Perú. Javier works very diligently with the pastors and missionaries in the North and has become a good friend to Eddy.

After returning to Lima for a few days, Eddy and Luke headed over to Argentina where they were finally able to meet the congregation in Rosario. Both of them were equally blessed to spend time with such a fervent bunch of believers and thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship and warm hospitality.

A walk around Rosario after the Sunday service... and look, there is our Brother Adam (you might recognize him as one of the Acedemy students from 2011, he now fellowships with Nico in Rosario)!

Nico & Andrea, our beloved brother and sister.

Just this past month Eddy returned again to the North to continue getting to know the missionaries there. He had quite a blessed time with them and was invited to share the word of God every night. In this particular study he was struck by the sharp attention the brothers paid to the teaching, from the looks of the photo he was not kidding!

Over the past few months we have been through many trials and tribulations all of which the Lord has been using to form our characters and draw out His likeness in us. We praise Him for His mercy and grace He pours out into our lives, allowing us to continue serving Him on the mission field. We are excited about an upcoming trip we will be taking to the North, the first time visiting this region as a family. There, Eddy has been asked to teach in a conference for parents. In addition to the teaching our goal is just to spend time getting to know not only the missionaries but their families as well, we will be there for about two weeks time. Please pray for our safe travel as we will be driving (a two day trip one way) slowly up the Coast of Perú.

The Jungle, Mountains… and Argentina!

This month has been a very busy one for us here, especially for Eddy. A few weeks ago we received a few brothers from HeartCry Missionary Society and Eddy has been holding meetings and traveling non-stop since their arrival. One of the first places they visited was a city located in the jungle named Tarapoto, where they had a blessed time of fellowship with a missionary family there.

After a few intense days in Lima they set out for Trujillo, Piura and the Andes Mountains of Northern Peru. Currently Eddy is visiting missionaries and churches in the  Northern Andes Mountains, he and Brother Luke are bringing much needed encouragement to the area and missionaries there.
Upon their arrival they will have a few days in Lima to continue ministering to the mission’s missionaries here and then they will head for Argentina to visit our beloved friends Nico & Andrea Serrano as well as their church family there in Rosario.
Please continue to keep us in prayer, for Eddy & Luke to have much wisdom and discernment as well as physical strength. For myself and the children as we stay behind and continue on with our daily routine while Dad is away. We are very thankful to have many brothers and sisters here to accompany us and keep us occupied and blessed.
I know it has been quite some time since we have posted or sent out an update and as things calm down a bit, we will do so. We are about a week away from finishing first grade which will provide Mom with a little spare time, until then, God bless you all and we look forward to hearing from you!

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.

During this season of change we ask for your prayers for us as we wait on the Lord and His direction in our lives. We know that His ways are perfect and past finding out, we know that He also makes all things beautiful in his time. He is the Great Shepherd and will lead us on to accomplish His will for our lives. These times, although they have brought great change and often times of sadness for us, have drawn us ever closer to His side. In the midst of the storm we praise Him for the blessings He bestows upon us, for the brothers and sisters He has given us to encourage us along and for the hope He has instilled within us.

May God bless each and every one of you, we covet your prayers!

Happy Birthday Hadassah

Hadassah turned six years old this month, here are a few photos of our celebration. We praise God for granting us another year with her and it is our hope that He will bless her with many more; that through her life He will bring praise and honor to His name.

Just Cuteness

A few weeks ago we were studying rocks and jewels and so we took a trip to Parque de Las Leyendes were there is a replica of a mine. You might be wondering why there would be a mining exhibit at the Zoo but for those of you who are familiar with Peru you might recall that mining, especially for the all favorite gold mineral is especially big here in certain areas. The park, like Peru, is broken up into three parts; the coast, the mountains and the jungle. In each section of the park you can see various exhibits including animals from that particular region. It is a great place to visit, we've been more than a handful of times and we have yet to see everything.

lil' Miners

A tire from a tractor used in mining, a great prop for photos.
Today I heard a lot of commotion going on in the living room, when I went to see what was going on I discovered a small church assembled there. There was one devout worshipper present and bibles had been strategically placed on some of the chairs for those who might show up later. It was too cute.

Celebrating 100!!

This week we are celebrating a milestone; the kids have reached 100 days of class and so have learned to count to 100 as a result. We've been doing a lot of 100 themed things this week and I thought a cake to decorate with 100 Lentejas (M&M type candy) would also be a very fun and not to mention a delicious way to celebrate one-hundred!

The kids got to help prepare the brownie cake.
Mom's lil' Chef, he loves to help in the kitchen.
Helping has it's perks!

Mom's lil' Artist, she loves to decorate.

It tasted as good as it looked!
Hadassah invited a few friends over to help us celebrate!
